Harbor Light Gallery was opened in 1999 in Port
Sanilac, Michigan, on the shores of Lake Huron.
The gallery features the photography work of Gary
Bobofchak. Since that time, many other items
have been added, mostly the unique art and
craft work of Gary's wife, Cristy.
In addition to the gallery, Gary & Cristy also
operate the Raymond
House Bed & Breakfast
Inn, which accommodates guests from around
the country and abroad. Harbor Light Gallery
is attached to the Inn.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Atlanta,
Gary began his photography career in the studio
business. After many years photographing portraits
and weddings, he found that his true passion lies in
photographing the landscape in a way that captures the
mood of the world around us. Gary uses medium and large
format equipment to capture the elaborate detail and textures in
his images.
Mr. Bobofchak began exhibiting at art shows in 1994. At his third
exhibition in Virginia, he won the award for "Best in Show" and
never looked back. Since that time he has won numerous awards and
ribbons from shows across the country. In 2003, he was honored with
the addition of one of his images in the Photographers Forum publication,
"The Best of Photography 2003." Gary also produced a series of images
for the 2004 calendar for the American Health Assistance Foundation.
In order to keep up with the demand for his work, Mr. Bobofchak
operates a complete frame shop where he personally mats and frames
each one of these images.
Harbor Light Gallery is open seven days a week, from Memorial
Day to Labor Day. During the off-season, the gallery is open most
weekends and by appointment. Visit the Harbor Light Gallery displays
